Supporting Our Community

BAC is leading the way in developing strong and mutually beneficial relationships between the airport and its community.

Brisbane Airport supports the local community by:

  • Offering a tailored airport 'School Tours' program;
  • Involvement in recreation and sports that promote healthy lifestyles and community participation; and
  • Providing free airport precinct tours for community tour groups (approx. 50/year).
  • Other initiatives and activities include:

  • Supporting a range of local educational programs, including the BAC-QUT research partnership and the pioneering Gateway Schools Project, encouraging young people to take up careers in aviation-related industries;
  • Corporate sponsorship partnerships with Brisbane Roar Football Club, Queensland Theatre Company, Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra, Camerata of St John's, Brisbane Powerhouse, Queensland Music Festival, Crime Stoppers and Brisbane Festival, totalling more than $450,000 annually;
  • Supporting the work of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) through refunding landing fees and ASIC processing costs equating to more than $220,000 annually;
  • Actively supporting Brisbane North Development Forum, Agenda North, The Brisbane North Chamber of Commerce and a number of other community and business forums;
  • Active engagement in community festivals including Racecourse Road Festival, Nundah Festival and Morningside Festival; and
  • Facilitating the Brisbane Airport Community Fund by providing smaller grants to assist schools, sporting teams and interest groups in the airport's local community.
  • Brisbane Airport, and its staff, also help facilitate numerous aid and charitable endeavours alongside our airline partners, airport tenants and other stakeholders.
